Doggy evening, Fiction, Flash Friday 55, I like dogs but they scare me, Imagination, In a matter of seconds, Jogging chronicles
One evening, I decided to stroll
Listening to my I-Pod roll
A loud “Hey!” did I hear
I figured, from somewhere near
I thought I recognized the face
Ah! Friend from college days
He was walking his gnarly dog
My heart became a log…
I waved back, but didn’t stay
Barely managed to scurry away…
** My first post for Flash Friday 55 hosted by G-Man… Check out the other interesting reads too!**
***I really owe this one to Adam for constantly encouraging me to try out a 55!!! Thanks, Adam! You Totally Rock :)!!! ***

Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for the encouragement… I am totally a first timer here 🙂

gnarly dog and log heart … you made me smile.
Thanks for the link to Adam, I ‘lost’ him for a while.
Kavita said:
🙂 55 words makes it a wee bit tough to put everything in… hehehe … but I enjoyed writing this one.. .
Glad it made you smile, Cindy… 🙂

Kavita said:
Cuz of his gnarly canine friend ofcourse 🙂
Enjoyed writing this 55… it was tough though…
brokenpenwriter said:
So you really are afraid of them… 🙂 I am too, when they gnarl! This poem quickly set the scene, showed the action and got out again with a really cute ending, all in 55. And a great title too, by the way.
Well Done, Kavita.
Kavita said:
Oh.. I am so glad you liked the title! I ended up putting more time into the title than into the story.. the story came in a “flash”! 😉 Thank you for the encouragement, Cindy… It’s my first 55!! And yes, I am definitely afraid of those gnarly ones!!! brr…
Oh man!! writing a story in just 55 words is very challenging… but fun too!!!
Hope you are having a great time!

Gee…thanks a bunch girl!!! I need all the encouragement I can get! 🙂 55s are tough!! phhewww
Well, at least I found it tough.. hopefully, it’ll be slightly easier the next time 🙂
Glad you liked this one… try it sometime if possible..you could incorporate your new (Cinquain/Haiku) learnings into it too.. a double challenge sorta 😉
Ilakya Spandhanaa said:
umm whats a 55? (I’m clueless 😛 ) does it refer the sonnet 55? But that something to do with immortalizing loved one or something like that, is it not?
Kavita said:
I wasn’t referring to sonnets, lady… I was referring to Flash 55… not many rules really! It’s writing a story/poem/prose/fiction/whatever in 55 words! 🙂
Sounds simple huh… 🙂
Ilakya Spandhanaa said:
Oh.. this is totally new to me,, I might try my hands at it sometime 😉 thanks for the insight!
Kavita said:
ohh…anytime, girl!! You could check out G-man (his link’s in my post) for more on this 🙂
And then there is Sunday 160… poem/story, etc in 160 characters or less (spaces included)!!! How cool is that!! I too am pretty new to these memes… just a coupla weeks old I guess.. and I am enjoying them!!!
joanny said:
Kavita:
A good 55er , and interesting too boot. liked the gnarly dog and your become a log…reference, very clever.
I have yet to try it may be next week, hard for me to say anything in 55 works or less — unless it is haiku or ?Tanka. Maybe the Sunday 160 word would be better? who is hosting it?
Good 55er you actually nailed it down perfectly,
Joanny
Kavita said:
You should try it too, Joanny! Next Friday for sure! I am sure you will enjoy it! 🙂
Glad you liked this one… and thanks for the sweet comment… I really appreciate it!!!

G-Man said:
This was indeed an excellent first time 55.
You didn’t like this person from your past?
Originally, there was rules.
A Plot
A central Character
In EXACTLY 55 words…!!!!!
But when the Friday Funfest was handed over to me to Host, I accepted ALL formats just to get people to participate in this challenging Exercise of creativity.
Supposedly the rules state that you post your Friday Flash 55 on your FRIDAY post on your blog, then you come read mine and comment, and leave your link in my comment box. I post at 8:00 SHARP every Thursday. But for some reason people just post Willy Nilly all day Thursday. It’s kind of hard to keep up, But at least they play and thats all that matters…Thanks again, and have a Kick Ass Week-End…G-Man
Kavita said:
Phhheeewww… glad you liked this one, G-Man! Well, I guess the first-timer in me followed the rules today 😉
Maybe next week on, it won’t be the same 🙂
I was originally thinking of posting mine on Friday.. but I saw yours, and decided I could post mine a coupla hours before Friday 🙂
Annnyyhoooo… I am lovin’ the 55s!!! And thank you for having me here… It’s so totally cool!
I am having one helluva weekend…hope you do as well! Looking forward to read (and write) many more 55s 🙂

Oh god! In all our girly talks, I totally forgot about the poem… hehehe… I am scared of dogs, girl… and I think they sense that in me 🙂 I don’t dislike them.. I just am scared! These days, I am getting better .. I mean, come on, the other day, I actually shared the elevator with a lady and her fluffy little thing! I tried to fool it that I wasn’t scared of it.. and it got fooled alright 🙂
Anyway, you get to your poem now that your work day is over with… Post it tomorrow, and I will read it soon enough!!! 🙂
Meanwhile, take care and have fun…
