How I write, is mine…How you read, is yours

~ Most of us feel it, some don't. Some of us say it, some don't. Some may agree, some won't. Be as it may, the facts still remain.

A poem a day, Day 2, NaPoWriMo, Senseless imagination, Sunset, Thoughts, twilight, Wait

And that October evening
when the sun went down
It took with it
a little part of me
That part
whose skin yearned
– in anticipation –
for the sting of your touch
whose lashes quivered
– with delight –
at the thought of you

It took with it
that which I once
held dear
Very dear to me
– half my soul –

** Written (with great effort) towards NaPoWriMo… Okay, I’m off by a few hours, but hey! I did write, didn’t I ?! Well, anyway, it’s 2 down ยง 28 to go ๐Ÿ™‚ **

“Hush of a storm”
Image capture and editing done by Kavita

She’s pounding on my windows
I can hear her sobs
– her nerve twisting wails –
But little does she know
that while she is wreaking a havoc
with her disgruntled sighs
I am right here
Waiting
– helpless –
Watching her tears
flood my sight
Beating the walls
of my own pounding heart
Knowing
– we’re both trying to escape –
She, from us…
And I, from me…

*Posting this for OpenLinkNight @ d’VersePoets… Always my favorite! And once you visit, it’ll be yours too :)*

Despite all the promises made
Of never leaving the other
To him a farewell she bade
For her, he was just another

With his desire torn and ground
And a heart like crusted earth
He chose to listen to the sound
Of his whims for what it’s worth

Beside a blooming clover’s toe
Now patiently he waits
Eyes full of jilted lover’s woe
And fenced in memories’ gates

With purplish oceans of belief
A flower he softly holds
Hoping to heave sighs of relief
As love in time unfolds

But as the tides of seasons ebb
And strength begins to fray
In his mind, grows a thin cobweb
Of dreams and faces gray

Planting
As roots
Are my feet
Into the ground.
Branching
As shoots
Are my limbs
Across the span.
Growing
As moss
Is my dress
Over my trunk.
Flowing
As wind
Is my hair
Across my face.
Teeming
As bees
Are thoughts
Across my mind.

Burning
As fire
Is my soul
For us to meet.
Spilling
As blood
Are emotions
Through my eyes.
Breaking
As glass
Is my being
By your deeds.
Hurting
As cuts
Are your words
Played in my ears.
Scabbing
As sores
Is my heart
Enclosed within.

I leaned against the wall
Tried to hear what it said
Its silence, hard as lead
Making all my spirits fall

I stared at the ceiling
Knowing not what to do
Your games of peekaboo
Playing at my feeling

I tried to smell the air
For traces of your scent
To me, no clue it lent
I thought this wasn’t fair

I touched the floor ‘neath me
Hoped for your footsteps near
These tiles evoked a fear
And I wished I could flee

I stood by French windows
Tasted the finest scape
And let my thoughts escape
To the weeping willows

I let my senses drain
For sixth to run this show
And now I simply know
That hurt shall not remain

This torch lit in my core
I let its embers burn
A click and then a turn
And you walk in through that door

This picture was clicked by from the top of the Empire State building

Like vivid stains of colored ink
On a dry sheet of black blotter
From far they look at me and blink
Awestruck, I look back and wonder
Will they last, or will they sink?

They hang around in the lanes dark
Like ghosts in a deserted town
They’re fireflies buzzing in a park
Giving specks of flickering hope
Shielding us fish from a vile shark

These messengers of midnight skies
Performing their daily rounds
Marked with zeal are their tries
As they aid a lone traveler walk
While to him, the world’s closed its eyes

They prowl about with utter pride
Their quiet footsteps laughing loud
A growing ferocity in each stride
They know they’re getting close
To the end of this enchanting ride

They cast holograms on waters deep
Dilating many a pupil as they glow
But this energy they’ll have to keep
And wait for the next dusk to fall
For it’s almost time for them to sleep

Slowly when the sun comes to sight
Spewing its gentle rays about
As another dawn puts darkness in plight
What becomes of these lurking creatures
These wandering illuminants of the night?

Here’s my opportunity to show how thankful I am to all of you that thought me worthy of the wonderful Celebrate Poet award… Thanks ALL!!!

like leaves that rustle
in the orange glow of Fall
words shape into hearts

Also, a huge THANKS for the Perfect Poet award!!! I would like to nominate Eclipseย as the Perfect Poet for next week…

LOOK WHAT HAPPENED!!
