How I write, is mine…How you read, is yours

~ Most of us feel it, some don't. Some of us say it, some don't. Some may agree, some won't. Be as it may, the facts still remain.

An afternoon not wasted, Magpie Tales, Recreation, Ski, Sled, Sledge, Sleigh, Snow, Winter

An afternoon of white
Mountains wrapped in snow
We had nowhere to go
It left us in a plight

But that wasn’t a reason
To hate this lovely season
So armed in winter gear
We stepped out without a fear

Grunting, huffing, panting
We got up to the peak
Our legs feeling too weak
By now, we were ranting

But just one look below
No sooner did we know
Color and strength regained
And happily we sailed…

DOWN

DOWN
DOWN

It’s 5pm now…
The City’s already lit in her full glory
It’s 5pm now…
A new start to another night’s story
It’s 5pm now…
Color’s been stripped off a short day
It’s 5pm now…
Bright yellow’s turned to somber gray
It’s 5pm now…
A sweet cool has transformed to a freeze
It’s 5pm now…
Muffs and mitts protect from the breeze
It’s 5pm now…
A myriad feet are hurrying back home
It’s 5pm now…
Frightened faces ‘neath masks of chrome
It’s 5pm now…
Those safe inside go crank up the heat
It’s 5pm now…
The once flakes now a slippery sheet
It’s 5pm now…
There are sounds of doors banging shut
It’s 5pm now…
All has settled into a mundane rut

Amber red leaves drifted
Over graves unmarked
As they gently lifted
Unsung spirits parked

Tranquil zephyr blowing
Softly hummed a tune
Showered kisses glowing
Up towards the moon

Days and nights went flying
With sweet scented hues
There is no denying
Autumn’s wild-eyed muse

Now the shades are leaving
Towards some new place
Whilst the Gods are weaving
Blankets of white lace

Midst of milky patches
Naked trees stand tall
As a note despatches
To Winter, from Fall

Ghosts rising from slumber
Greet a snowy day
Starry flakes of wonder
Drizzle down the way
