She watched
as honeyed rays
dripped with warmth,
spilling their zest
all over town,
painting it gold

She smiled
as downy soft spores
absently brushed against
another pollen shoulder (or two)
while on their hurried paths
to a yearning flower

She sighed
like the gentle breeze
that in its achromaticity,
seemed to carry
a colorful tune
to every ear that cared to pause

She thought
with a hint of wistfulness
how all seemed
so beautiful there
– from this side of a rigid fence –

Ten aeons
Nine dreams
Eight notes
Seven seas
Six degrees
Five senses
Four knocks
Three sighs
Two hearts
But only one breath
To say I love you…

And while a shy moonbeam
caresses my windowsill,
I am still lying in wait
for that one breath
from your lips
meant only
for my
skin

For aeons I’ve waited
Only for you
My feelings unabated
In this inky blue

I’ve seen your eyes
Look towards me
Scouring night skies
Amid a starry sea

Your earthy tether
I accept with grace
So we’re together
On spatial face

Finally here you are
On wings of hope
Unseeing my scar
Embracing my scope
