For a long time now
I have been lugging
your dead weight around
It lies there
crippling my mind
rending my gut
cramping my style
weighing me down
And yet
I cannot leave it behind
Although
I cannot move ahead
I wish you’d just
Disintegrate
Incinerate
Evaporate
over the mountains
into grey dust
beneath the riverbed
I wish you’d just
bid me a tearless adieu
show me a weightless ray
and let me be
‘Coz for a long time now
I have been lugging
your dead weight around…
