Playful
That whip flying from her feet
lashing at strange empty faces,
She moved on
undaunted
by the impending dark cloud
Unpretentious
The mahogany dyed odd strands
tickling at her naked smooth nape ,
She moved on
swaying
to the muted symphony in the air
Relentless
Those torrential bursts of rain
pounding against the tip of her nose,
She moved on
accompanied
by a quaint umbrella of hope
Frivolous
That soaked little paisley dress
clinging to her sun kissed skin,
She moved on
mesmerized
by her sapphire lined horizons
She’s still marching
Free-spirited
and free…
**Posted for One Shot Wednesday (week 45)! Check out this amazing galaxy of wonderful poetry, link in your poem…and simply relish it all! 🙂 **

“by a quaint umbrella of hope” love that line. Your poetic piece reveals a great sense of a free spirited individual, but more as one enjoying nature rather than being rebellious just for the sake of being so. The speaker expresses the enjoyment of momentary freedom among a storm through the image of the girl. Wonderful poem, Kavita. Hopeful.
Kavita said:
Oh wow, Adam!It feels REALLY great when a piece is read and interpreted just the way the writer wished for it to be understood.. thank you so much fr seeing this poem this way, my friend… I really appreciate your eye keen of observation…
Yes, this poem was intended to be all about experiencing and relishing freedom in each moment as it comes by… with hope and with an open mind…
So glad you liked it, Adam!! Thanks again!!!

She is beautiful, dangerously content to be all that she chooses to be. I like this; the person most of us are afraid for her to be but so elated if she would bless us with acknowledgement and a moment or two of her time.
Kavita said:
Oh wow…. I could have never said so well, Sam… you have used the perfect words to describe her, and the feelings people have towards her!
Thank you so much for “understanding” the thought behind this poem, my friend… it’s most appreciated!!!

This is fairy-like, as if written about a child. I think it’s also about a certain attitude also, someone who will not be trodden on or held back. Lovely poem, thank you for sharing!

Kavita, I just posted for the first time at One Shot! Loved this poem’s form, especially the solitary adjective beginning each stanza, very effective. This girl has a sense of purpose; there is nothing random about her free-wheeling nature. It seems the only way she can live. Great work! Amy

Very well done; I think you’ve been true to your title, clearly describing your fierce, defiant, whip-wielding stride in spite of the dark threats confronting you. I almost dare not say so as I read the other comments about the freedom of your spirit. I reserve judgement and say Hmm, for now. Excellent poem, Kavita.
Kavita said:
