For aeons I’ve waited
Only for you
My feelings unabated
In this inky blue
I’ve seen your eyes
Look towards me
Scouring night skies
Amid a starry sea
Your earthy tether
I accept with grace
So we’re together
On spatial face
Finally here you are
On wings of hope
Unseeing my scar
Embracing my scope
**This is my version of what our lovely Luna might have told Neil Armstrong when he first touched her :)**
***Posted for Theme Thursday and G-Man’s ULTIMATE Friday Flash 55!!! Check ’em out, perhaps even link in a poem or two… AND ENJOY!!! ***
I feel small now…I felt like you should go on with this piece
Peace, hp
Awww… now now, hp… brace yourself! π Look at her, and you’ll never feel small..
I am guessing you liked this one… thanks, my friend…
yes I did π
teeheehee..thanks!!! And trust me, it’s one helluva challenge trying to talk about love in 55 words… hahaha
Realized that today, while writing this one!! π
Awesome piece! I agree with hpicasso that this piece could go on. Yet, it is so beautiful as is! π So lovely to think she can see us…
Awww… thanks, Rache sweetie.. trust me, I would have LOVED to go on an on with this (I think I’m a sucker for romantic poetry).. but I had to stay happy with 55 words for now π
And yes… it’s so AMAZING to know that we too are loved just the way we adore her… a warm feeling indeed…
One does have that feeling you get on a winter’s night when all the star surround you…and you feel moroe than small…more like insignificant….as you read this poem….but I do like this poem.
(sigh)…that’s so true, Charles.. looking up and seeing the magnificence of the universe, it’s easy to feel insignificant… thank God those orbs appear tiny from down here… (wwhhheeww!) π Else we would’ve felt intimidated (if not already :))
Glad you liked this poem, C… thank you ever so much!!!
xoxox
It is so cool looking up and seeeing this giant sphere staring back at us, connnected by celestial forces, our great Uncle in the sky! Awesome write!
You bet, Paulo… the sky (and beyond) holds so much awe and mystery… sometimes, it’s not too difficult to feel that connection..

For a moment after reading this, I was jealous of you. It takes a lot of talent to write something like this.
You inspired me to dig around for a poem I wrote 7 or 8 years ago that fit the “space” theme. I posted it here: http://avoidtheclap.wordpress.com/2011/03/12/heaven-was-full/
Oh my my !!! I am blushing now…

I *love* this. What a thought…never dawned on me to wonder what the moon might be feeling. After reading this, i wonder why…
-C
Awww… thank you so much, Corrie… I am pretty sure the Moon must be thinking SOMETHING about us Earth people… I mean, after all, she watches us all the time! But I wonder WHAT she thinks about us.. heheheh
Glad you liked this poem so much, my friend… thanks a ton for your kind words…
xoxo
Great rhyming as always…
dissolved
hahaha…thanks, Gautami.. but there’s an entire universe behind those rhymes π
Neil must have been a lunatic to pursue his dream beyond the reaches of earthly birds… he flew high in his capsule just for an embrace, with his Luna.
π
Nice read.

Lovely, love the feelings in this one. I understand why you said it is similar to mine. We do think a like when it comes to writing poetry, it happens to us so often! I guess like minds think alike π
Whheeww.. Just for a while, I started wondering if I was the only one seeing “things” here.. glad you saw the “cosmic connection” too, DP π Yup…you’re quite right.. our like-mindedness in terms of our poetry stuns me at times.. in a pleasant way ofcourse π
Me is happy you liked this poem, babes.. thank you ever so much!!!

Thank you soooo muc, Jinksy.. your comments sure got me flying all over the place…

I wrote a poem about the moon landings in the week they happened (yes, I am that old!)
It was far less romantic. It ended with a line about still believing the moon was made of ‘pure green cheese’!
I like your version though.
Aww… how sweet of you to say that, AJ… and we are talking about LUNA here, who has been waiting for AEONS..remember? So guess who’s the oldest of us all!! π
And you wrote a poem when the landings actually happened?? WOW!!!! Do you still have it? I WOULD LOVE TO READ IT!!!
Glad you liked this one, my dear friend…
(hugs)
xoxoox
