Fused in stone
Sometimes ceramic
Cold to the bone
And a touch metallic
Suppressing a groan
In manners emphatic
Our sins we condone
In an air too static
Frozen in embrace
Under a thorny tomb
Like a tepid womb
For muted disgrace
Like in a locked fortress
That is set on fire
We essay to digress
From a surging desire
While in this process
As events transpire
We’re thrown in a recess
Of life’s quagmire
Yet, silently we hope
To some day break free
To emerge and see
And no longer grope

So nice Kavita. I like the way this flows. It brings out a strange feeling for me- a sort of discomfort in the sculpture of life. I like your choice of words too.

The three elements (title, photograph, and poem) work so very well together to express the desire to break free and finally be free of the confusion of life…well said.
Thanks a bunch, Charles.. I guess we will alwyas see ourselves as “bound” in some way or the other.. and so, when we see objects that remind us or ourselves, we end writing all about freedom or imprisonment.. heheh
