faint shadows dancing
behind smooth flimsy curtain
ghoulish puppetry
thunder and flashes
whizzing past turbid waters
ripples created
Images of precious past..

Kavita…I really like the way this one evokes mental imagery of the scene.
Thank you, Charles… images of the past always seems to come in distinct lfashes.. I really wonder how and why…

🙂
Aww.. anytime, Ji!! I am happy you liked this piece.. thanks a bunch, girl..
Have a beautiful week ahead..
there is a juxtaposition between ‘precious’ past and the imagery…when you use words like ghoulish, thunder, and turbid…hmm….
glad you acknowledged the contrast, Brian.. I appreciate your reading “into” the poem.. thanks a bunch, my friend..
So are you saying the precious past went down the drain?
This kind of reminds me of Plato’s concept of life as a mere reflection of a deeper reality – shadows on the wall.
you were the only one to decipher it, Alice 😉
As for shadows on the wall, that phrase has a super pronounced effect on me!! (sigh) Reminds me of a whole lot of things…
I’m a Haiku Kind A Guy….These Rocked!
Woohoo!!! You said it, and I am blessed, G!!
Love ya!!!!
Happy New Year, my friend!!
Awesome image, and between that and the words, thoughts of Shakespeare’s Tempest popped into my mind.:) A magical 160 and potluck poem.

And those flashes take such a long detour, and yet, last only a few seconds. Strange, yet, hard to live without.
Nice Read.

Have a wonderful new year, my friend..
‘Images of precious past’…yes, those images are precious, because they represent our lives captured in vignettes. Sometimes like a movie, sometimes like a snapshot, almost like the pages of a photo album.
Merry Christmas to you, Kavita.
regards,
Eaton
I like how you have put it here, Eaton.. I REALLY LIKE IT!! Yes, our pasts have a bearing on us all..don’t they? As long as they don’t have an ill effect on us, we are all good.. 🙂
