Planting
As roots
Are my feet
Into the ground.
Branching
As shoots
Are my limbs
Across the span.
Growing
As moss
Is my dress
Over my trunk.
Flowing
As wind
Is my hair
Across my face.
Teeming
As bees
Are thoughts
Across my mind.
Burning
As fire
Is my soul
For us to meet.
Spilling
As blood
Are emotions
Through my eyes.
Breaking
As glass
Is my being
By your deeds.
Hurting
As cuts
Are your words
Played in my ears.
Scabbing
As sores
Is my heart
Enclosed within.

You capture many emotions in this poem, Kavita. Remaining firm through the uncertainty of change and feeling pain enclosed within the heart. Powerful. And like tekia said, the photo is awesome too. 🙂

Awww.. thank you Adam… I was just trying to bring out some positivity in the end.. I hope I managed to convey it the way I wanted it to..

Oh, wow! First the photo grabbed me … all those arms. Riveting.
And on to the poem: There’s a tempo that’s rather like being on a swing or a seesaw, which adds to the effect I think … and nicely too! Totally tortured … the emotion, not the poem.
Congrats on your award, dear Kavita.
Hugs! xxx … and great One Shot 🙂
Kavita said:
I take every word you just wrote, as a compliment by itself, Jamie! Thank you….
Yes, the torture was kinda intentional (only in the poem though) 🙂
Glad you liked the poem, dear….

“bees
Are thoughts
Across my mind”
Out of all those wonderful images, I liked this one best. Several years ago I was exercising horses up on the moors and I heard a sound like an engine running steadily. But there was no one around, except me and three horses (Riding one, leading two). I finally realised that the heather was in full bloom and every single shrub was being harvested by honey bees and wild bees. Their humming filled the silence – a most beautiful, happy sound. Your phrase brought that wonderful memory back – thank you, Kavita. The lady in the image is amazing. Just beautiful. Good work all round!!
Kavita said:
Ohhh…that’s LOVELY, Cindy!!! I am super glad that a verse from one of my poems brought back lovely memories for you… that’s really sweet of you to mention it to me too!! Thank you!!!! It really was a refreshing image indeed! All those sweet smells floating in the air, that buzzing of the bees, the flowers blooming all over the place…AWESOME!!!!!
I hope you are doing well, my friend… I had been away for a while, and now I’m on a fast paced catch-up mode! 🙂
Take care, my dear inspirational friend… your comments and encouragement are something i ALWAYS look forward to!!
Many hugs to you, Cindy… xoxooxox

Gay Cannon said:
Great image; incredible poem! So innovative and imaginative. Love the parallelism as you build (as it were) from the ground up and branch out (as it were) into the possibilities and the emotions and then leaf into the concrete reality wrapped in scabs. That’s some hard bark there and also somewhat heartbreaking. But beautiful. Thanks, Gay @beachanny
Kavita said:
You know Gay, I too kinda liked how I staretd from the roots and went upwards and outwards… I don’t know.. the poem kinda built itself.. I didn’t have to do much.. it just flowed (if I may say so)…
And I am sooo glad you liked it… it makes me feel very proud of how it turned out!! Thank you so much for your kind words of appreciation… they are invaluable to me!!!
Interestingly, sad stuff make for interesting poems… don’t you think?? I hope I can write happier stuff too.. 🙂
Happy Weekend, Gay… take care…
