Mine did too! It was like getting hypnotized… my eyes got heavier and heavier, and I got dreamier and dreamier… What did you put in that poem? Lovely piece – once again, when you allow the words to fulfill the image rather than the rhyme, your poetry climbs to new heights. Beautiful image – especially liked how the moon is transluscent enough to see the hills through it, as if it were made of spiderweb-thin gauze.
ooohh… Well, the fact that wrote this comment after reading the poem, means that you aren’t asleep (yet!) 🙂 So, that’s great!

Glad you enjoyed the read, Cindy… yes, sometimes, no-rhyme is quite appealing to me too! This was a idea that was conceived and written in under 10 minutes.. So, I suppose I couldn’t fit in rhymes here.. but I am happy with the output myself 🙂

We were talking today about the brilliant starlight of our youth. We lived on a high plateau where the entire 180 of the sky was visible and the stars were so vast in number, one couldn’t find the constellations. Those skies have faded with pollution but your work brings them back in vivid detail. Thank you, Gay

😀 haiku is a minimalistic endeavor, trying to explain emotions in 3 short lines. and yours, your words, have exemplified what a thousand odes have already sung.
Well, what can I say Kyoichi… If the stanzas make sense when read individually, then I suppose they do qualify as Haiku 🙂 And if not, then they simply make a long poem! 🙂
