Night now unfolded
Opened like a vast canvas
Smooth galactic plane
Diamond dust sprinkled
On a sheet ebony blue
Gleam intensified
Watching Luna smile
Revel in her own glory
True heavenly bliss
Past present future
Written between shiny dots
Many tales revealed
Reflected below
On glistening waters black
Sight never to miss
Dreams floating right by
Tickling exhausted nerves
High ride on some cloud
Eyelids heavier
Warm darkness sweeping over
Pure satisfaction

Aww…thank you soooo much, April…yipppee!! So glad you liked and enjoyed this one… 🙂
That night sky sure has a way with us, doesn’t it!? 🙂
brokenpenwriter said:
Mine did too! It was like getting hypnotized… my eyes got heavier and heavier, and I got dreamier and dreamier… What did you put in that poem? Lovely piece – once again, when you allow the words to fulfill the image rather than the rhyme, your poetry climbs to new heights. Beautiful image – especially liked how the moon is transluscent enough to see the hills through it, as if it were made of spiderweb-thin gauze.
Kavita said:
ooohh… Well, the fact that wrote this comment after reading the poem, means that you aren’t asleep (yet!) 🙂 So, that’s great!
Maybe I did indeed add some wine in here after all 😉
Glad you enjoyed the read, Cindy… yes, sometimes, no-rhyme is quite appealing to me too! This was a idea that was conceived and written in under 10 minutes.. So, I suppose I couldn’t fit in rhymes here.. but I am happy with the output myself 🙂
Thank you for your encouraging feedback, my friend… it always helps!
And that image – a dedicated search on Google Images results in night-like wonders! 😀 I am glad you liked it too…
Have a wonderful week, and a dream-filled sleep (later ofcourse) 🙂 xoxoxo

We were talking today about the brilliant starlight of our youth. We lived on a high plateau where the entire 180 of the sky was visible and the stars were so vast in number, one couldn’t find the constellations. Those skies have faded with pollution but your work brings them back in vivid detail. Thank you, Gay
Kavita said:
You have put it so correctly, Gay… murky skies have now replaced bright hues and clear beauties…

😀 haiku is a minimalistic endeavor, trying to explain emotions in 3 short lines. and yours, your words, have exemplified what a thousand odes have already sung.
Kavita said:
Well, what can I say Kyoichi… If the stanzas make sense when read individually, then I suppose they do qualify as Haiku 🙂 And if not, then they simply make a long poem! 🙂
I hope you liked what you read here…. thanks fro your feedback and kind words here.. I really appreciate it..
Have a great week!

I was in the middle of reading this the other day when an elderly friend called. I had to drive her to the hospital emergency room. We are still going to appointment after apointment and I am so behind on reading … I had only the time to hit the “like” button and then run … So, my apologies. I hope you didn’t think that I didn’t care enough to comment …
I so enjoyed this … both times reading, which means it really does read well. It’s rather hypnotic. My favorite is the third, but they are all vivid.
