I leaned against the wall
Tried to hear what it said
Its silence, hard as lead
Making all my spirits fall
I stared at the ceiling
Knowing not what to do
Your games of peekaboo
Playing at my feeling
I tried to smell the air
For traces of your scent
To me, no clue it lent
I thought this wasn’t fair
I touched the floor ‘neath me
Hoped for your footsteps near
These tiles evoked a fear
And I wished I could flee
I stood by French windows
Tasted the finest scape
And let my thoughts escape
To the weeping willows
I let my senses drain
For sixth to run this show
And now I simply know
That hurt shall not remain
This torch lit in my core
I let its embers burn
A click and then a turn
And you walk in through that door

Do stop by, have a look, and once you fall in LOVE with us, follow us and subscribe for updates and more goodies! Cheers to you all for making us happen!!!! Thanks for taking the time… ENJOY!! š
Very thoughtful and emotional, Kavita. I dig that rhying scheme, too!
Ooohhh…that was QUICK commenting, Eric!! First again…yaaayyyy š
And yes… I found exactly what I was looking for, in a comment ‘thoughtful’… cuz I did put some thought into writing this one for sure!! 5 senses and all.. hehe
Glad you liked it… and oh, I am soooo a rhymes person! š Thanks for the kind words..
Happy Thursday!!
Umm, RHYMING scheme, that is!
( a ‘rhying scheme ‘ sounds like an evil plot hatched in a delicatessen! LOL!)
No prolemo.. gotcha! ‘rhying scheme’ — who knows how many times I’ve been “targeted”! š
But really, it does not matter! Who defined the boundaries of poetry??
š Rightly said, Naba.. no boundaries at all!
Thanks for stopping by here… I really appreciate it!
Have a great weekend!
Nice – and the image is a perfect match for the words. And isn’t it just the way of it? – we spend so much time wondering, agonizing, and just like that it’s over and everything’s all right again. Life! š
ABSOLUTELY, Ruth!! You totally nailed it! When we try so hard to put you head and senses to it, it JUST DOES NOT work… but when you go with your intuition/instints, it kinda clicks! Well, at least quite a few times! š
Glad you liked the poem AND the image! It took me HOURS to find the “right” one… Unfortunately, instincts could not help much.. cuz I was hunting for images on Google š
Thanks for the appreciation and thoughtful words…
Hope you are having a great week! (hugs)
Oh this captures the anguish of waiting for someone while dreading they won’t return. A well-crafted poem. And I agree with Eric, it has a great rhying or rhyming scheme š
hehe..thank you Lisa.. glad you liked the rymes and rhymes š
And yes, it was totally about wait! Like the one today! It’s after 6pm, and the spouse ain’t home.. ggrrrrr.. but my instincts say he will be home in about 15 minutes! I hope I am not wrong š
Thank you for your thoughtful comments here, Lisa… a very happy weekend to you!!!

LOVIES to you!!! š
Enjoyed this sweet and gentle poem…..loved the happy ending. š
hehe.. you are so kind to me, Charles… and I thank you for that!
This poem was a result of that wait for hubby to get back from work… and interestingly, as soon as I finished writing the poem, he rang the doorbell! Hmmm.. so it’s kinda special! Apparently, I dp have so instincts myself.. š
Glad you enjoyed the read, my friend…
A very happy weekend to you!
Thoughtful. Emotional. Longing. Great job!
Thank you, my friend… that longing is just too much! But the fulfillment on seeing his face as he comes in thru’ the door – WOW! š

heheheh… I am getting so predictable now…ain’t I ?! š
Glad you liked this one, M… thank you… your sweet comments are cherished!
Hope you have a gorgeous weekend..
I like the way you ended this, the last line seemed to change the direction and complete the poem all at the same time.
hehe.. thanks Cindy.. it was how it happened too… I mean I kept fretting over when hubby will get home… but after some time, my heart just asked me to shut up and be still..and as soon as I was done with this poem, he rang the doorbell! It was quite spooky actually.. like as if he knew!! š
Glad you enjoyed the read, sweetie..
Have a beautiful weekend!! xoxox
I like how all of your senses at once were highlighted but the sixth sense was the one that told you the most…awesome š
YOU NAILED IT!! That was exactly how it was!!! Thank you, my friend.. and I am so glad you interpreted the poem the way you did… means a lot to me!!
My 6th sixth is telling me you are gonna have a fantastic weekend!!
So, enjoy!! š xoxoxox
I saw “embers” burst into a dancing flame when the door opened!
Woohoo for people walking in…..and yea, the picture does wll for the lines.
hahahah…well said, Dennis!! It was just that for hubby when walked in ! š I think I must have jumped on him!! hehehe
Glad you liked the poem-pic combo! It probably took me a coupla hours to find the “perfect” picture! But it was worth the while! š

Great art on your part.
hahaha.. oh yes, I am, doctor!
Glad we thought similar stuff.. thanks for the kind words here ..
Hope you are having a super great weekend!
Excellent! So much time spent wondering and worrying and trying to sense things instead of just waiting for the events to unfold.
You can say that again, Teresa! sometimes, it is better to simply take it as it comes, rather than speculating!
Glad we agree on this š Thank you for your kind comments and insights.. they are most appreciated!
Have a great time!! š
Lovely and so true! Image is a perfect fit–well done!
Aww..thank you ds… that image took some hunting! But it was worth the while š

Great job. The words are so evocative and the image matches perfectly. I love the rhyming, too, I wish I could rhyme. Love the poem.

The image, the visuals, the entire piece is melodic. Brilliant, honey.

Kavita:
It was a lovely lyrical poem, it sort of lingers in the air — all about you — in your thoughts, in your heart, playing, singing , dancing in your head. Delightful touching poem. Nice photo to go with it, I also pictures bubbles, not ordinary bubbles, either,….
Joanny

And that is what I mean by born to be a poet, you have created the perfect senario…started by being so totally down and as your senses explore, it turned around. You are the princess of rhyme Kavi, you take us on a imagery tour from the very start to the last word of every creation. I just love it so….thanks for always bringing us 6 star poetry, you never ever disappoint in any way or form. The image you chose cannot be more perfect!! I so love what you do and am always in awe, your wordplay amazes me. You Rock girlfriend….and make me so happy in coming here. Beautiful poem.. loved the line
I let my senses drain
For sixth to run this show
And now I simply know
That hurt shall not remain
Gee….thank you C!!! That’s EXACTLY how I felt while waiting… phheeww š
Glad you liked the read… Thanks for stopping by!!
Have a great weekend!!
Happy Birthday to your parents,
They are blessed couple,
they must be proud of you..
BEST!
Thanks for checking in.
Awww… thank you sweetie Jin!!
Will definitely convey your wishes to mom/dad on their birthdays.. you are too thoughtful and kind! LOVE YOU LOADS!! xoxoxoxo
nice image K, and u r right.. one does ponder a lot, and look for answers from floor to ceiling, door to window.. I even look from bathroom to kitchen sometimes, who knows, the answer could simply be a bar of chocolate š š
enuf foolin around, your words were well said again.. I think the rally brings out the best in you š slight hint of romance too, or maybe a lot of it.. next time, I’ll ask you to pick the image for a poem maybe.. I’m not that good at image hunting..!
cheers, and have a great weekend š
That bar of chocolate sounds perfect!!
And you have noticed well… I too was beginning to notice that somehow, I end up writing romantic stuff for the Rally.. very interesting!! Let’s see what the next one holds in store š
Image picking is an art!! You really to “feel” it to pick the right one! š Glad you liked this one, Leo…thank you for your sweet words here! I really look forward to your comments!
Have a superb weekend yourself, dear… xoxo
I love the way the picture gives us an inkling of the “I” in the poem. And you have fulfilled the rhymescheme perfectly. The line: “I touched the floor āneath me” might be smoother with the extra syllable of “beneath”, but that is a very minor quibble for an excellent poem.
Ohh…. you think ‘beneath’ would have been better??? Cuz I had initially written that…then read it out aloud, and changed it to’neath… phhheeww
But thank you so much for the constructive feedback and the kind words here! I really appreciate it… I am very glad you liked and enjoyed the poem (and the image)… yes, i looked REAL HARD to find the exact long kinda image… something that “stands” beside the poem! š Glad you noticed it… Thank you once again for everything!!!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend, my friend!! xoxoxox
You are becoming a rhyme specialist these days…LOL…nice one, Kavita. Always good to see were your muse had wondered to…
Cheers!
hehehhe.. “rhyme specialist”!! Me likes that!! Thanks Em!! That’s very generous of you… š
Oh.. our muses takes us to all kinds of places… don’t they!? Glad you enjoyed this one..
I hope you are having a fantastic weekend! oxox
thirller …. thats wht this post is a Thriller….
Cheers!!!
Awww..thanks wiser!! You are too kind š
Cheers to you as well!
O my!!! i can feel the pain through your words.
a beautiful write š
awww.. thanks you H… you are such an empathetic person… how sweet of you!
Glad you liked this one…
Have a beautiful weekend, my dear friend.. xoxoxoox
Your words are always so heartfelt, pure, and beautiful.
I love reading your work!
Cool picture.
Peace,
Gee.. thank you Clayton! It was very kind of you to say that… I am honored and very glad that you like what you see/read here! thanks again!
And have an excellent weekend!!! š xoxox
The picture and poem reflect the time you searched for they are a great match. A poem that does so well reflecting life. The over analyzing brain and the natural instincts. I do say some have such a hard time listening to their instincts and spend all their time in their minds. So sad! Thanks for a wonderful poem to start my day, Kavita. š
Thanks for the thoughtfulness and appreciation, River! The hunt for the perfect image was a real long one š But it was worth it! Glad you liked the image, and the poem!
And you are so right… sometimes, it’s just better to let your instincts tell you the way! Thanks again, R..
Have a lovely weekend! xoxoxooxox
The use of senses and the the ties of emotions with the words and imagery was really constructed well. I love the journey you took us on.
Woohoooo!!! Thank you so much for your super kind words here, tasithoughts! I am truly happy that you liked this poem so much! And I really appreciate your thoughtfulness… thank you!!! š
Have a splendid weekend, my dear friend… xoxoxox

Perfect image chosen for this one Kavita š What a great picture huh?
I am also in awe that you always have such great use of ryhme…and youre ideas….WHERE do they come from? I’ve been to Boston too ya know, and I did NOT get the inspiration you seem to have š š
Chloe xx
hahahah…. this idea didn’t come from Boston.. it came from waiting for hubby to get back from work…GRRR!
And the image was a result of a super long hunt on Google images! š But it sure was worth the while.. š
Thank you for your sweetie sweetie words, girlie… glad you enjoyed this read! I sooo look forward to your super cute comments.. they totally cheer me up! THANKOOO
And a very very happy weekend to youuuuu, my hcl li’l green plant!! Fall’s almost here.. please don’t shed! š
I think Google images is one amazing little place to find perfect images…but finding just the right one certainly does take time. You nailed it here Kavita š
I had to laugh at the idea of me shedding….you love the little green icon huh? Maybe I should change it depending on what season it is? Ah, not really too sure about that. But I LOVE Autumn (Fall)……it’s definately my favourite season.
Have a lovely Sunday my friend xx š
You bet! Finding an image that “fits” you poem, is really tough! But this time, it was really worth the time! Glad you liked it, Chloe.. yaaaayyyy!!
Shedding.. heheh… and please don’t bother changing the image.. this green one is PERFECT for your name..remember?! š
I love Fall too!! It’s like the best of all words sorts.. cool, sunny, romantic, yet dark… ALL of that!! š
Happy Sunday to you sweetie.. xxxx

Thank you so much for all the kind words, Magia!!!
Have a beautiful weekend, my dear friend… much love to you! xoxox
Oh, this is just a darling poem and illustration that perfectly captures the way it feels to wait … and so much in life … first parents coming home from work … then husband and children … very fine work, Kavita!
Happy weekend.
You bet, Jamie!! All those waits… just too much!
I am happy you liked this one, sweetie… this poem was a total result of me waiting for spouse to get home from work.. heheh
Thank you for the kind words and encouragement.. they always give me a push and boost!!!
A very happy weekend to you too, my sweet friend… xoxooxox
Love this one! The ending especially. Awesome as always! You have a beautiful way of making the words flow so well.
hehehe.. thanks DP… as annoying as waiting is, it tends to results in okayish poetry š
Glad you liked this one… How has your weekend been thus far? Mine was lazzzzzyyyy…but have loadsa chores to deal with…grr!!
Enjoy your Sunday girlie..
Waiting…yes it does result in good poetry. But waiting too long is pointless.
We had a long weekend…and the idiot that I am…I didn’t realize it until it was looming right over me. So all my friends went off to other cities for the weekend and I’m stuck at home. I just wandered out alone, and lazed around at home. Shopped a bit too. Mostly boring and lazy though.
Enjoy your Sunday. Finish off your chores and enjoy your weekend! š
hahaha..you are right! Super long waits are boring, annoying and pointless! I know exactly what you mean! Been there..done that.. (sigh)
Oh youuuuuuuu.. how could you NOT realize that it was a long weekend?! duuhhh!!!
But then, sometimes, those wanderings and time-to-self are really enjoyable too … and hey!! Lazing around is AWESOME!! š
My Sunday is gonna be filled with cleaning and chores…YIKES!!! And then, in the evening..wooohooo!! Poetry Potluck!!! Amanda and I will be hosting our first ever poetry potluck on Jingle Poetry!!! Try and visit it (and participate) if you can and feel like.. we would LOVE IT if you do!!! (okay, I didn’t really have the intention of marketing it here.. but ended up doing it anyway!.. Sorryyy) š
HAPPY SUNDAY!!!! Laze around some more… Monday’s just around the corner š
This piece has a wonderful song like quality to it.
Thanks Nessa!! š Nice to see that you enjoyed this piece…

Sweet pensiveness in this poem. Glad it ended happily for the one who waits! Wish that it could always be so. Nice picture to accompany as well. š
Oh… I am thankful that it ended the way it did, Christine.. In fact, my hubby actually rang the doorbell minutes after I got done with this poem.. phheww!! Neat eh?! š
Glad you enjoyed the read, sweetheart… and thank you so much for your empathetic and kind words… That really means a lot to me!!
A Very Happy Sunday to you!!! xoxoxox
Fascinating stuff…Piercing observation and vivid imagery with a palpable tinge of intense purple intuition.. Loved it..
“I touched the floor āneath me
Hoped for your footsteps near
These tiles evoked a fear
And I wished I could flee”
This is simply fascinating stuff..
Ooooohh… so glad you saw it that way, Sayan!! THANK YOU!!! Sometimes, one tries real hard with the 5 sense, and doesn’t get anywhere… and eventually it’s that 6th sense/instincts that kinda”tell” you how to proceed…
Following the heart is indeed okay at times I guess š
Glad you enjoyed the read…
Happy Sunday!! xoxox
