A starless night
No one in sight
I was lost alright
On sandy shore
With waves that roar
My hopes, they soar
Squinting my eyes
I watched him rise
From seas to skies
One swift glide
Him by my side
My pain did subside
Two spirits embrace
Hearts out of pace
Returning to undead space…
**Posted for Friday Flash 55, hosted by G-Man… Please do check out the other creative writes as well… :)**
Reads like a film 🙂
hheheheh… thanks Cin 😉 It really was too filmy..
Have a super weekend! 🙂
She met up with a Merman?
Neptune?
Kevin Costner from Waterworld?
Loved your 55 Kavita…
You were just in time…Great Job!
Thanks for playing Finally!!! And have a Kick Ass Week-End…G
Ahaaa.. in my head, they were both spirits.. she got lost somewhere in between, and kept waiting for him at the shore…and he finally arrives, takes her back into their dead world 🙂 Dang!! I didn’t find the right picture! But I thought this was pretty close though 🙂
Glad you enjoyed it G.. 😉 And I thoroughly enjoyed your guesses ..heheheh…Kev Costner?!?!?!? Too much! 🙂 Oh boy! I am glad I played!!!
Thanks for your energetic comments 😉
You have a kickass weekend yourself, Mr.G.. You absolutely rock!! 🙂 [hugs to you]
I always like to find a fellow rhymer, for so many people have yet to discover the joys of verse!
YESSSS!!!! I love you for saying that, Jinksy!! MWAH!!! For some reason, when I say “poem”, rhymes follow… There are very few poems I’ve written, that have no rhymes… I don’t know how and why…but that’s me I guess! Phheeww
Thanks for visiting, my friend…and for your encouragement and appreciation!!!
Have a lovely weekend! (many hugs)
If I could place myself in her shoes…somehow…sometimes…in my lonely and sad times….I would imagine me, standing there, squinting my eyes…watching him rise….and with one swift glide…he would be by my side….sigh…..I felt every single word of this poem to the core of my soul!!!! And it brought a tear to my eye….you cannot imagine just how much!!! You have touched me with this…it is as if you have read my mind and have written this for me….it is very special my friend and I want to print this one….and keep it forever. I love you xxxx
Btw…the pic is PERFECT!!!! xx
Picture credits – Google random image hunt – performed AGES ago… I had just loved the image, and had saved it to my laptop.. Came in very very handy today! After I had written the poem, when I was thinking of putting up a pic to go with the words, I knew EXACTLY which one to use… and found this one on my harddisk in a jiffy! 🙂
Awww… my sweet Amanda… you move me with your comments, sweetheart! To write this poem, I had to imagine myself there, waiting on that shore…only then, could I get myself to “complete” it… till I did that, it was just an idea in my head…
I am slowly beginning to realize something… that to write a poem, you need to FEEL it.. you may not necessarily really experience it, but you DEFINITELY HAVE TO feel it… and I think it’s a gift we have!! And we should REALLY be thankful for this quality we possess…
I am very happy to have touched your heart with this poem, dear girl… but don’t ever shed a tear over my poems… just remember that I shall always be there for you (I know it sounds crazy, what with the Aus-US separation).. but I for one know that we share a very nice bond..and I am thankful for that! SO PROUD to have you around… BEEEEEEEEEEEG HUG TO YOU!! 🙂
Keep smiling, and keep writing! Love ya!
Oh… HAPPY WEEKEND TOO!! 😀
divine……
you live a poem….if heart is there…
you trace a poem…if mystery is there
you embrace a poem…..if soul is there…..
you enjoy a poem ….music of all there is there…
enjoying in my being……free…found…forever…
love all….
oh….thank you so much for your kindest words, Ram… Your comment here has made me feel refreshed and very happy!
I am so glad you saw and felt music in this poem.. that really means a lot to me!!
Much love to you…
Have a beautiful and calm weekend..
divine……true to your name…….
love all……
Oh wowww… thank you Ram…. that’s a compliment I LOVE TO HEAR! You are very kind…
Have a pleasant week!
I like your Header. “How I write, is mine . . . how you read, is yours.” I wannabees understood that, a lot of writing would read a lot better. You clearly do understand it!
Thanks Dr FTSE… I appreciate your comment…
Whether the writing is done better, or the reading, I cannot be the judge of that… but I know one thing for sure; that they can be very different form the other… it’s always all about perspective anyway 🙂
“Tomayto” – “Tomaato” — same difference 🙂
Have a great weekend!
Perfect!
Whoa!! Thanks a ton, Marco… Glad you liked it!!
Have a great weekend!!! 🙂
short and crisply narrated!
lovely!!
Thanks a ton, magiceye.. Am very glad you enjoyed this one… Found it kinda tough to write it all in 55…barely managed 🙂
Thank you once again…your comments are much appreciated!
Have a great weekend!
Beautiful and elegant 55 Kavita.
Yaaayyy…thank you so much Cheryl… Very glad you enjoyed the read! 🙂 It was a tough 55, I MUST admit 🙂
Have a beautiful weekend, friend…
At first I thought it was about a merman too. Thanks for the explanation. But it was beautiful nevertheless. I got what you wanted to portray 🙂
Have been away from wordpress for a few days….need to catch up with a lot of blogs haha. hope you’re having a great weekend 🙂
heheh… 55 words made it a bit tough for me to get it completely across.. this was the best shot I could give…phheeww 🙂
Yea, this is about two spirits, one losing her way, and finding herself between the “living, on a sandy shore… But a short while later, her lover finds her, and takes her with him, back to their spirit world…forever…
Am glad you liked it, Asmita… And thank you so much for your appreciation and sweet comments…
Weekend’s been kind to me thus far.. and peaceful too.. let’s see what more it has in store! 🙂
Hope you are having a great time!!! Have a fun weekend!! 😀 (much love coming your way.. )
It was confusing
Thoughts refusing
Beyond doctor’s imagination
Nothing was for investigation
Lost over the glide
Which pain did subside?
Absolute clueless
Perfectly thoughtless
Trying to toddle in a new glide
No one to guide! Free slide
Still pondering over the poem end
Found in to Kick Ass Week- End
Still enjoying Kick Ass week- End. I don’t whether i suits you or not
Dr. Madan Goyal
New One is strictly not for you

Oh Doctor…why the confusion? 🙂 Don’t fret much over this poem…
Okay I’ll let you in on what I had in mind when I was writing the poem.. This is a story of two spirits/souls, one of whom loses her way, and finds herself in the “living” world. But she waits patiently on the shore for her lover, and after a while, he appears, and takes her with him, back to their spirit world..
I hope I have cleared the muddle up to some extent 🙂 And my apologies for creating it in the first place…
Have a relaxing weekend…
Pingback: Confusion « Drmadangoyal's Blog
hahahah…you seem to be REALLY confused, doctor… never mind…Imagine whatever you can… It doesn’t have to match with what I had thought of, while writing this one 🙂
Like my title says “How I write, is mine… How you read, is yours” 🙂
I might (try to) clarify it in another reply.. but that’ll take away the crux of the poem.. but that’s alright… 🙂
Happy Weekend! 🙂
Ooo I love the spirits of the underworld. Hot story actually. 🙂 Well done. Have a great weekend. I so love your theme by the way. 🙂
OHHHH…Bless You, Thom.. I was beginning to get a feeling that I thoroughly confused my reader with this poem… hehehhe
And then came your comment! AND I AM HAPPPPYYYYY 😀 You nailed it!!!! Thank you thank you thank you for your encouraging and kind words… yaaayyy!!!
Yes, it was about 2 spirits…one of whom got lost in the “living” world…but after a wait on the sandy shores, her lover appears from the waters, and takes her with him..back to their world…for good.. (sigh)
Mwah Mwah Mwah… I am so glad you enjoyed this!! I too got goosebumps when I got this idea for the poem… heheh
Oh… and this lovely theme is called “Greyzed”…It’s totally a WordPress thingie.. 🙂 I absolutely love it!!
Thanks again for your wishes… And have a great weekend yourself!!! (much love to you) 🙂
Love the picture, and the lyric is so romantic 🙂 Nicely done!
hehehe..Thanks, Mona! Glad you enjoyed this piece… I found it kinda tough to write this one in 55..phew..but it was fun nonetheless! 🙂
Have a gorgeous weekend, girl!! (much love)
I really like the way that you express your ideas.. 🙂
Whoooaa!! Thanks a ton, D… I am really glad you liked this one!!! Expressing this one in 55 was kinda tough, I must admit! 🙂
Have a fantastic weekend!! 🙂
Oh…by the way, I cannot open your wordpress blog… I keep getting a message that this blog has been deleted 😦
Oh my goodness–that one gave me shivers! The good kind of course ;). It’s a poem with a certain elegance about it, and a beauty undeniable. Almost…musical, with its rhyme and flow. And the picture provide some lovely accentuation to the scene described. Hollywood eat your heart out, eh?
hehehhe…that filmy eh, Chris??? 🙂 Maaannn… it was tough writing this one in 55 words…phew! And me as I am, I HAD TO HAVE rhymes too…grrr!!!!
I am so glad you liked this, Chris… that’s a big boost to me!! REALLY! Thanks a ton for the kindness and encouragement!
Thankfully, I had this picture saved on my desktop, form an oooooold Google image hunt! Dug it out, and put it up here…so that the idea gets a bit clearer.. (or so I hope anyway) 🙂 Never mind all that.. I am just happy you liked it! Period! Thanks again… 🙂
As for Hollywood…(blush blush :))
Have a SUPERB weekend!!! (many hugs)
This is like the bubble princess – what happens to a mermaid when a man discovers he loves her too late.
hahahah… now THAT’s a very interesting take !!! 🙂 Already, a poem is taking shape in my head…
Thanks, Alice… your comments always give me perspective! Really appreciate it!
Have a great weekend, friend…
Have you ever looked into taking creative writing at your local college or university? With your love for writing and your poet’s soul, I know you would enjoy those classes. It seems such a shame to leave the untapped potential inside you, when you have such a passion for writing. Think about it – you’d be surprised how much your work would grow in leaps and bounds.
Oh wowww.. thank you Cindy!! That was a real huge compliment!! And it’s very kind of you too… I really enjoy writing… and creative writing seems so appealing to me!! I would love to take this at a university some time… I have been thinking about it for a while now, and these words of encouragement from you have reinforced the idea in me all over again!
Yes, I WILL!!! Yaaayyyy
Hope you had a great weekend!! Thanks once again… (much love to you…)
Wow, how romantic and beautiful. It’s like reading about two hearts merging in slow motion. I don’t even know if that makes sense, but great poem!

Awww… thank you so much for your kind words… When I wrote this, it was Friday the 13th! I just couldn’t get myself to write anything dark, so I thought I will limit the poem to two love-spirits 🙂 Glad you liked it…
