A minute of creativity, A minute of freedom, A minute of the best ideas, Flashing ideas, Imagination going crazy, One minute before falling asleep, That minute before dozing off to sleep, Vivid pictures
Floods seem to rise
Flashes tend to storm
Patterns take a form
Each night, as I close my eyes
Tenderness and calm
Are taking over me
Like on a sprained knee
Spread a soothing balm
Troubles are at bay
Senses in the fore
This I want some more
Nights as bright as day
Can I forever keep
These images vivid
The sparks that I’m amid
These ideas so deep?
Oh one minute of WOW
Let me hold you tight
And drink you in my sight
Before slumber says ‘not now’…

Kavita said:
Thanks man!! I like my romantically inclined poems to have a musical flow to them… And if you say that this one did, I really feel like gloating over this compliment! 🙂
Sing it if you will.. but send me the recorded version too please 😉
Happy Weekend!!! Hope you ain’t working over the weekend…

Absolutely awesome…a beautiful imagery of those WOW moments!! You are the epitomy of a wow personality. Hold onto them always beautiful girl for it is so infectious to us all!! Nights as bright as day…like you are!! Thanks for always sharing with us your wondrous thoughts. Hugs and more hugs xxxxx
Kavita said:
Whhooaaa!!! Now I am all bedazzled with your bright and beautiful words for me!! 🙂
The cold hasn’t done any damage to your cheery self, I am sure!! Stay thus forever, Amanda… Keep smiling .. (love n hugs)
Btw, those moments of WOW just before falling asleep are REALLY quite amazing! I keep my book and pencil by my bed, just in case I get any bright ideas then! 🙂 And often, I have found myself scribbling in my book, all red-eyed and sleepy 🙂 Crazy me!
Anyhooo… go to bed girl!! Isn’t it REALLY LATE? Or is it too early already? 🙂
buttercup600 said:
It’s 7am in the morning here!!! I had to laugh at you for scribbling down in the middle of the night, I DO EXCATLY THE SAME!!! hahahaha. (If I don’t, I forget when I wake up what it was all about!) We’re all I bit crazy I think but I love it!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Kavita said:
Grrr… all this time difference is quite maddening! So it’s 7am Saturday morning there? It’s 5pm Friday evening here.. We here are sooooo slow ! 🙂
And yes.. don’t even talk about being crazy!!! When I told another friend about my book-and-pen habit, she wildly laughed at me… I too worry about forgetting the ideas in the morning! Heck, I even worry about forgetting stuff on opening my eyes! But I cannot really write with my eyes closed..can I? So I have to take my chances! But now, after learning that you too do the same, I am feeling so much more relieved! 🙂 I really really like you, girl !! Aaahh .. I wish Aus and US were a little more closer than they are 🙂
buttercup600 said:
That means there’s about 14 hours time difference…how crazy is that?? Are you situated in New York or where? I wish you lived closer too, the feeling is mutual!! You are sooooo my kinda girl! Love yah girlfriend 🙂 🙂
Kavita said:
Yes.. I am in New York!! 14hours!!! Whoaa!!! That’s too much..isn’t it ??
By the way, let me know if you are on FaceBook! I will look you up there (if you are ok with it)

divine….before slumber says… note now…..
( in our sleep this following cycle repeats everyday
by beta, alpha, theta, and delta brain waves
last resulting into zero awareness sleep that we call
slumber sleep )
slumber sleep is so wonderful as we sleep like a child
experiencing oneness with cosmos in timelessness.
now is timelessness and taste of god……
happy dreaming……………

Lovely poem, I love the way it flows. Often we have such wonderful thoughts before falling asleep, and all we can do is hope to hang on to them as long as possible before sweet slumber takes us over. 🙂
Kavita said:
You can say that again, girl!!! And that’s why I have started carrying a book and pencil with me EVERYWHERE! Even when I go to bed…
I really cannot risk forgetting some of those ideas I get juuuuust before falling asleep… And so, I just scribble them into the book .. So that I have at least a hint of it the next morning (or whenever it is I open my eyes)… and this has helped me for sure! 🙂
Anyway, I am glad you liked and enjoyed the poem…
Have a bright and lovely weekend!

Lovely, lovely poem as usual. I have to say, I was chuckling at the exchange between you and Amanda. I also keep a notebook at hand at all times. I’ve written poems in the middle of the night, grabbed my notebook in the middle of watching TV and even while dinner is bubbling on the stove trying to stir with my left hand and write with my other.
I think it’s just the writer’s compulsion not to lose the inspiration.
Regards …
Kavita said:
Hehehehe… stirring with one hand, and writing with the other!! Now that’s some skill you’ve got there!!! 🙂
And yes, I totally am with you on the compulsion to not losing the inspiration bit .. I sooo believe that myself ..
I am really glad you enjoyed this poem.. and thank you for your kind words 🙂 I greatly admire your writings, so any appreciation from you means a lot to me!!!
Hope you are having a relaxed and beautiful weekend!!! 🙂

Wow! You hit the creative nail on the head! I find myself doing the same and text myself poems or keywords to explore the next day. That way no lights to turn on and off. and i can stay in the dreamy slumber.
Also, naps are big here in the Middle East and a great way to get your brain to talk to you.
Great topic and lovely poem.

Hey Kavzie,
The same thing happens to me too. Night falls, I lie and then just before I start to dream, my mind starts to weave! Thoughts, patterns and other flashes that make me get up right there to write down..lolsss
Some of my poems that I wrote in my initial days were just before I was going to go dead.. that’s what I call when I say I am going to sleep.. 😀
This is the time when the mind is at rest and is about to connect to the dimensionless ether. It’s bound to happen this way!
All the very best- viewing those flashes and then polishing them later for all of us to read.. 🙂
Love xoxox
Kavita said:
(sigh)… you said it, lady! and thanks for the wishes, sweets…
