A sculptor rightly sees
The toughness of the rock
But carves features fine
Leaving spectators in shock!
A potter rightly sees
The dampness of the clay
He moulds it into a vase
In which our tulips play
A seamster rightly sees
The sharpness of the string
He sews on with patience
And mends our worn clothing
And yet we wrongly see
A flaw in one in all
Rather than pick virtue
We push, cause them to fall
So let us rightly see
In them the good and fine
And love them as they are
For they are all divine…
**Excited about adding this one to One Shot Wednesday as well!!! :)**

The continuance should ask the same involved here to look at themselves a bit deeper without any spin that would cause mitigation or excuse. Of course when something is bad there is no excuse and when something is good there should be no cause of falter or to bring it down from the pedestal it rightfully sits.

Rightly put! Some of us are people with glass houses that have the gall to pelt stones at others…
Thanks for visiting, and for your invaluable comments..

Well done . . . and we do nitpick, don’t we? Appreciate your values, Kavita.
Thanks for another good poem.
Kavita said:
Oh yea, we do nitpick! And not everybody likes it when told this truth… (me including…. (sigh))
But it’s really better we see it ourselves, and soon too…and getting around to accepting š
Thanks for stopping by, Jamie… Glad you liked the poem…

Huge thanks, Amanda! Glad you liked the read…
I was just trying to tell myself to stop (at least reduce) the cribbing and complaining about others, and start smiling about things instead š
And yes, I do hope to keep writing .. š Let’s see how that goes…

Thank you for another wonderful, inspiring poemā¦
āSo let us rightly see
In them the good and fine

This is the perspective Iām trying to have when I observe people and transform them into characters when Iām writing a story
Kavita said:
Thank you Lua for stopping by… I am glad you liked my poem here and found it inspiring as well..
This perspective you’ve mentioned in your comment is required in many many aspects of our lives… writing certainly being one among them š
I get a feeling that by accepting people for who they are, and well…letting go, would give us some peace of mind – something we usually complain of not having š

if we could all just see the good in others imagine what a world it would be…tight write…you did a great job with this one. thanks so much for linking up with oneshot as well and making our opening day extra special.
Kavita said:
You bet, Brian! The world would be a magical place if we all saw just the good in everyone else … but also a tad boring too, I would imagine š
Nonetheless, it would do a lot of good to our own Peace-meters, that are usually at their below-average levels!
Thanks for showing your appreciation towards my work, and for your encouraging words…
And it is my pleasure to be part of OneShot! Great poets, cools styles and awesome works! Love this idea of yours!

Hurrah! Glad to see you’re part of One Shot Wednesday, too.
So often does the pessimist in us arise–seeing only the bad, sweeping the good under the rug. Good flow, with some healthy insight into the perception of value.
Kavita said:
And I am glad to be part of One Shot Wednesday myself!! Yaaaayyy
You are right about that pessimist in us, Chris.. that bugger keeps coming to the surface quite a bit! And when he does, its almost tough to keep his head under water! But just so we don’t drown in hatred, it’s better we drown him…don’t you think?!
Thank you for your kind words… and the appreciation towards this poem… am happy you liked it..
See you soon, my thursday-thru-wednesday pal! š

Nice one Kavita. Everyone has good and bad qualities. We end up looking at the bad stuff in others and the good stuff in us!

Why do I get the feeling that it was aimed at someone close? You certainly have a gift to view actions objectively. Hope it rubs off on your readers like me…
Kavita said:
Oh… no and yes.. It wasn’t intended for anyone in particular, AND was intended for everyone
But one this is for sure.. we all need a reminder or two once in while…this time maybe it’s me, next time maybe you, and another time maybe someone else..
We just need to act upon it…
Have a great July! š

This is a good one, human nature to see others’ fault so we can hide our own misdeeds.
Kavita said:
Human nature indeed!! We cannot really change our natures… but we sure can attempt to tweak it a bit just so as not to be especially cruel! Don’t you think so?
But thank you so much for stopping by, and for your kind words of appreciation…
Hope you are having a great week!

I absolutely loved this one. Words so true, and your lines are still echoing in my head. It is so cruel, is it not, how people see in all only the faults? Very good message you have there. We should all learn to see the good in everyone, rather than the bad. No one is black, no one is white, all are grey. Great piece!
Kavita said:
Those were some very kind and encouraging words, deadpoet! Much appreciated.. Thank you so much…
I loved what you’ve written here – “all are grey” … absolutely true, and should be honored rightly…
I am very happy you liked this one… Means a lot to me!
D.S. Lear said:
I always try to look someone directly in the eyes before speaking that way the reflection I see is myself and the judgments become a bit more compassionate. Then again a great deal more than I like I find myself just closing my eyes and blasting away knowing full well that what I hurled will just boomerang back and I sort of choke on my own words. I’m just a work in progress. Thank you for such beautiful reminders!
Kavita said:
Oh wow… I liked the way you have expressed yourself here…
It’s so true… Upto the point we maintain eye contact, we at least behave in a civil manner. We lose the former, and the latter is immediately lost too! And effects are never pleasant š¦ I wish we learned from our mistakes .. and soon too..
As for reminders, we all need them time and again..
Am really glad you liked this read… and your comment meant a lot to me! Thank you so much…
