If by avoiding something,
You get yourself into a much darker and deeper ditch,
Guess what! Serves you right!
If by avoiding someone,
You think you can erase them from your mind,
Go ahead… be my guest!
If by avoiding something,
You have attained Nirvana of some kind,
Please… please do let me in on the secret too…
If by avoiding someone,
You think they will forget everything about you,
Yea, right! Good luck with that!
If by avoiding something,
The situation itself ceases to exist,
I see a very peaceful and contented universe
If by avoiding,
You start seeing ignorance the same way as avoidance,
Then apples and oranges are the same
But they aren’t
Or so I am told
So while ignorance is still bliss, avoidance is probably not
Embrace the avoidable.
It’s the only way to learn about yourself, sometimes.

Again, thanks for taking the time to read..
You have put it very precisely here.. “embrace the avoidable”. It’s a very good and possibly only form of learning, at times…. Yet, do not always avoid. You might just be missing out on something (possibly) better… just a thought ..
I cannot avoid
I don’t want to avoid
saying something…
“I like this poem”
That was very sweet of you.. 🙂
Once again, thanks a ton for the encouragement !
I don’t know you email ID, so posting here
I added your RSS feed and each post is displayed in part in Google Reader. My other blog posts appear full sized.
Is this an intentional setting?

A runner from pain, heartache, and hardships, I know all too well that avoidance leaves you inescapable of what you wish to runaway from. Love how you ended your piece. Very well thought out and written just the same.
Wow…. you made me real happy!! You are the first person that has specifically appreciated the end of the poem… :)) Cuz for some reason, my favorite part of this poem also happens to be the last stanza!!! Thanks you so much for your kind words towards my work… Am most grateful !
And you are so right about how avoidance leaves you inescapable of what you’re trying to avoid! Really… it’s too much at times! Makes you think you are better off facing it boldly, than slipping away hoping to evade it…
Anyway, I hope you are having a warm, relaxed and lovely weekend! Take care, and enjoy!!! 🙂
